This year, we are once again foregoing gifts to partners and customers in order to support people in need and thus make a contribution to our community. We were able to help two special people in Austria and Germany in particular:
Austria: Michael, 8 years old, was born with hydrocephalus and has had countless operations since then. Although a shunt drains the excess fluid from his head, he is not completely stable and keeps fainting. However, as Michael also goes to school and needs to learn to live independently, the family was advised to get an assistance dog. However, as the father had a serious accident at work four years ago and has only been able to work minimally since then, there is not enough money for such a large investment. This year, CPB Austria was able to make Michael and his family's dream come true with a donation for "CAYA" and her training as an assistance dog.
Germany: Katharina has been in a wheelchair since early childhood. She had leukemia and her spinal cord was damaged during a lumbar puncture. She can only move a few steps with crutches, but this becomes increasingly difficult as she gets older. To increase her mobility and independence, her greatest wish was to ride a bike again. However, a suitable bike was far too expensive for the single mother. So it was clear for CPB Germany to fulfill Katharina's wish with its donation.
