Children are usually the hardest hit, which is why CPB helps by offering targeted support.
This brother and sister are growing up on a small farm that their parents took over last year as a sideline, heavily in debt. Both parents therefore have to work full-time "on the side" in order to save the business and cover the costs incurred to some extent. There is nothing left for extraordinary expenses. The 7-year-old son is so severely impaired by a reading and spelling disorder that he was barely able to follow the lessons in his first year at school. As a result, school was nothing but torture for the young man. There was no money for tutoring or extracurricular care, although this was recommended by many sources.
By chance, contact was made with CPB hilft and we were able to organize good vacation care with targeted support in German for the boy. We also covered the costs for afternoon care with individual support in the new school year.
This has helped the parents financially and relieved them of a major worry, but the most important thing is that R. enjoys going to school again and is even happy to be able to read to his little sister.
